• Modern Australian Relief Printing Education Resource

  • This education resource is designed for teachers and students of Secondary Art 7-10, VCE Art, Studio Art and Visual Communication Design. The relief prints of modern Australian artists Helen Ogilvie and Eric Thake in the University of Melbourne Art Collection are presented as inspiring examples of relief printmaking for student inquiry. This resource also includes an informative historical timeline of relief print technologies, artist profiles and artwork images plus a list of materials and techniques for relief printmaking. This resource is particularly well-suited for inquiry into book illustration and greeting card design projects.

    Students are encouraged to apply analytical frameworks for art analysis and design principles to analyse the work of Helen Ogilvie and Eric Thake to respond to the theoretical requirements in their subject area.
