Take part in a conversation between senior curator Bala Starr and finalists in the Basil Sellers Art Prize 2012.
Listen to the finalists respond to their works and their experience of the prize. Gain insights into the artists’ processes: who and what inspires them and how do their works relate to the theme of sport? Ask your own questions too.
Richard Bell describes himself as both an artist and social activist. In the collaborative painting A white hero for black Australia (2011) Bell and his collaborator, Emory Douglas, celebrate the bravery of three young athletes.
Lauren Brincat creates performance and object art that often tests her physical and cognitive limits. During May and June 2012, Brincat was based in Mexico City where she researched and produced her new performance video 10 metre platform.
